Women Dating Behaviors That Should be Avoided (1)

posted by my-blogmedia | Thursday, July 31, 2008 |

Hi women, here is the tips from expert for you regarding the dating. Enjoy.

You're dating a guy, and it's the crucial first few weeks. You really like this guy, and you're wondering what you can do (or avoid doing) to keep this relationship going and not scare him away.

The truth is there are certain things that women can do that will scare men away. Don't sabotage a potentially great relationship that could have gone somewhere by scaring a man off right at the beginning.

Okay, let's get into number one.

1. Trash-talking your ex.
Don't talk negatively about an ex-boyfriend in front of a guy you're dating. I don't care if you're on your first date or on your 15th date with a guy, don't ever trash-talk your ex. Your ex is somebody you dated, invited into your life, and with whom you spent a lot of time. So don't talk negatively about your ex in any way, because what a guy thinks when you do this is that if he ever becomes your ex that you're going to trash-talk him the same way. So, when a man asks you about your ex, you can politely say, "We are no longer together. It was a great relationship while it lasted, and I learned a lot." That's it.

Arsenal sign new Portuguese younger player !

posted by my-blogmedia | Thursday, July 31, 2008 |

Hi readers, it seems that Arsenal will have younger player for this season. Let's wait and see his performance.

English side Arsenal have signed Portuguese midfielder Amaury Bischoff. The youngster will be making his move from Werder Bremen in Germany.

Bischoff, currently 21 years old, was born in France and received most of its youth training at SR Colmar and Strasbourg before joining Bundesliga side Werder Bremen in 2005.

It took until the past season for the player to get in action for Werder, being subbed on in the 74th minute of a UEFA Cup match with Celta de Vigo.

Earlier this month, Bischoff announced his departure from Werder and not much later, he revealed that a transfer to Arsenal was likely.

Although having played for France's U-18 team, Bischoff later opted to represent the Portuguese Under-21 team.

Top 10 Animal Moms (10): Elephant

posted by my-blogmedia | Wednesday, July 30, 2008 |

Hi my-blogmedia readers, how are you. Miss your Mom, haha?. Several animals have a good mom behaviour. Take a look at this article. Enjoy.

There's nothing quite like a mother's love, and moms from the animal kingdom are no exception. Check out the top 10 creatures that go all out for their kids, from putting "dinner on the table" every night to even sacrificing themselves. These offspring really need to make sure they mail their Mother's Day cards on time this year! We post it one by one. So, be patient. Starting from no 10.

10. Elephant
The first mom on our list earns her spot for giving birth to the biggest babies on Earth -- we're talking an average of 200 pounds here! (Can you even imagine a diaper that large?) Female elephants also deserve a prize for enduring a 22-month pregnancy. The calves are initially born blind, forcing them to rely on their trunks for navigation and discovery, but fortunately, they live in a matriarchal society. Once the baby is born, the other "ladies" in the herd all lend a hand, including grandmothers, sisters, aunts and even cousins. These full-time baby sitters are called "allomothers," and they help in every aspect of rearing the young calves -- so in this case, it really does take a village to raise an elephant!

Tip for Improving Your Wi-Fi Network's Performance (1)

posted by my-blogmedia | Wednesday, July 30, 2008 | ,

Hi my-blogmedia readers. Sometime we feel unhappy with our Wi-fi connection, especially when we need the urgent and fast connection to the internet. Here is the tip for you. Hope this can help you. Enjoy.

How can I extend the range of my home Wi-Fi network?
First, make sure you are getting the most out of your current Wi-Fi router: Mount it in a central location in your house, preferably high on a wall; make sure that other 2.4-GHz devices such as cordless phones, baby monitors, wireless audio speakers, Bluetooth gadgets, and microwave ovens are not causing interference; and separate your router from your neighbors' router on the Wi-Fi spectrum. If they are using channel 1, for example, try channel 12 to minimize the chance of cross-channel interference.

If you still get a poor signal, consider upgrading to a router that incorporates MIMO (multiple-input, multiple-output) or draft-n technology. These routers not only provide far greater range than standard 802.11b/g routers, but they also boost speed by as much as ten times.

Finally, if you have particular Wi-Fi trouble spots in your house, such as odd corners, a basement, or an attic,
power-line networking can be a great way to serve those areas. With power-line devices, you simply plug one adapter into a wall outlet and run an ethernet cord to your router; then you plug another adapter into an outlet near the device you want to connect to the network and run an ethernet cord to that device. You'll need reasonably clean power--free from excessive interference from other electrical devices--but the newest technologies, such as HomePlug AV and HD-PLC, work very well.

Top 25 Best Heavy Metal Band (13) : Spinal Tap

posted by my-blogmedia | Wednesday, July 30, 2008 |

Hi rockers, here are the Top 25 Best Heavy Metal Bands according to yahoo music site recently. Here is number 13 position.

Spinal Tap
Everyone says they weren't real. Yet I will put them on every Heavy Metal list possible, since their material--you know, the songs--are every bit as good as the "real" thing. And even if they never really did record an album called Intravenus DeMilo, they should've. And if the budget had been there, they just might've. And who's to say Shark Sandwich isn't just the victim of a clever two word put-down review? Maybe someone should go back and re-evaluate this band's imaginary oeuvre.

Wait for the higher position in next posting.

Liverpool Signed Robbie Keane

posted by my-blogmedia | Tuesday, July 29, 2008 |

Hi readers, Fernando Torres will have a tandem in the near future. Can Liverpool win the league match this year?. We will see then.

Liverpool signed Robbie Keane from Premier League rivals Tottenham on a four-year deal, a statement on the Anfield club's website. The Republic of Ireland striker underwent a medical at Liverpool's Melwood training ground on Monday and the 28-year-old was then given the all-clear to move to Anfield for a fee of 19 million pounds (38 million dollars), rising to 20.3 million (40.6 million dollars) dependent on bonuses.

Keane scored 15 league goals last season and his move to Liverpool could now see him partner Fernando Torres up front with Reds boss Rafael Benitez looking to increase his strike power in a quest to bring the title back to Anfield.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy was far from happy at the way in which Liverpool had signed up his club captain and Keane, in a statement, did his best to soften the blow by saying: "I would like to place on record my thanks to the board, players and fans of Tottenham for the past six years, which were the best and most enjoyable of my career to date.

Earlier, an angry Levy said: "I was incredibly disappointed when I first heard, not only that Liverpool had been working behind the scenes to bring Robbie to Anfield, but that Robbie himself wanted to go and he submitted a transfer request to this effect.

"I have already made my opinion clear on the nature of this transaction. I don't regard it as a transfer deal - that is something which happens between two clubs when they both agree to trade - this is very much an enforced sale, for which we have agreed a sum of 19 million pounds as compensation plus a potential further 1.3 million pounds in additional compensation."

But Levy did say Tottenham would not pursue their official complaint to the Premier League, having been angered by remarks from Benitez after Liverpool acknowledged the way its website reported those comments was inappropriate.

Keane, who has also played for Inter Milan and Leeds, could link-up with his new team-mates on Tuesday in Spain, where Benitez's side are currently on a pre-season tour, and make his debut for the club friendly against Villarreal.

Top 17 Home Products Innovation Winner (5): Guarden

posted by my-blogmedia | Tuesday, July 29, 2008 |

Hello, my-blogmedia readers. We meet again. Here we are posting the winner of product innovations that might be usefull for you. Here is the number five. Enjoy.

Honorable mention: Guarden
To most anyone with a vegetable garden, rabbits are not cute, cuddly creatures but destructive pests. Keeping them away from your homegrown carrots and beans can be a real problem. Unsightly, rusting chicken wire has long been the common way to protect a planting area.

Thanks to Louis Filosa, a third-year designer at Purdue University, a better option may soon be available. Guarden features a retractable gear system, in-ground stakes and a magnetic closure to surround your fruits and vegetables. Just stand the retractable housing on end and extend the green netting to stake your ground against the cotton-tailed critters.

Hi, my-blogmedia readers. Here is other tip to boost your internet connection problem. This post is the continuation of the previous post. Hope this can help you. Enjoy.

4. Troubleshooting Line Quality
If your off-peak Speedtest numbers didn't measure up to your plan's specifications and if you found poor signal-to-noise or line attenuation numbers, it's time to troubleshoot your wiring. Excessive noise may cause intermittent dropouts, too.
Your first task is to determine whether the signal is already degraded when it reaches your house or whether your own wiring is at fault. To test this, move your cable modem as close as you can to where the wire first splits. If possible, take a laptop and power cord for your modem outside to the junction where it connects to the house. Retest and see if things improve. If they don't, call your cable company. If your own wiring looks to be at fault, reduce the number of splits that occur before the wiring reaches your modem and/or replace the wire itself, which may be faulty. The ultimate solution for cable modems is to create a split directly after the junction box and then run a clean new cable directly to your modem, using the other split for all of your TVs (which are less affected by noise).
For DSL modems, noisy inside wiring tends to be due to the other phone equipment on your line. This interference is supposed to be controlled by the filters placed between the wall jack and each device. Make sure that they are all in place. If you still have too much noise, the best solution is to install a "DSL/POTS splitter" immediately after the phone box, where the wiring comes into the house, and then run a dedicated "homerun" wire straight to the modem. This arrangement will completely isolate your modem from the regular phone wiring -- and the new wire should help, too.
If you don't want to do this job yourself, you can ask your cable or phone company to perform both tasks for a fee. Finally, improper grounding can be a source of noise, especially on cable. Make sure that all of your TV equipment is plugged into properly grounded outlets, with polarized plugs oriented in the right direction and without any three-prong-to-two-prong adapters. If you have an electric outlet tester, use it to check for excess voltage on your cable wiring. An electrician can find and fix any grounding problems, which are safety concerns as well.

Wait for the next tips in the next post.

Top 10 Cheater Animals (1): Cuckoo bird

posted by my-blogmedia | Saturday, July 26, 2008 |

Readers, continuing the previous post, here are the top 10 cheater animals based on survey. Now my-blogmedia is presenting the last one. Here it is. Enjoy.

Cuckoo bird
This is truly the mother of all cheaters -- the female cuckoo bird will not only raid the nest of her warbler neighbor to steal eggs, she then leaves her own eggs behind to replace what she just ransacked. In a true testament of nature vs. nurture, despite being abandoned, the baby cuckoo bird is just as much of a con artist as its birth mother. Thanks to incubating an egg similar in appearance to the other warbler eggs, the baby cuckoo bird blends among the other chicks and is therefore treated and fed like one of the family. You'd think with the baby cuckoo bird’s rapid growth (we're talking 10 times the size of its foster mother!) the warbler would finally take notice that something is amiss. But hey, a mother's love can really turn a blind eye.

Coronado Beach, San Diego, California
Coronado is a city in San Diego County, California, United States. The population was 24,100 at the 2000 census. Coronado is Spanish for 'the crowned one", and thusly it is nicknamed The Crown City. It is also nicknamed The Tent City, referring to tourists' tents that once lined Coronado Beach during the summer-vacation season.

Hi, just continuing the previous posting, how to make everything run faster?. Here is another tip for you. Read it. Hope ths can help.

Scan for malware with online tools
The best way to keep your PC free from viruses and spyware is to run a good antivirus application and keep it updated. But if you've been bad and left your computer exposed to the depredations of the malevolent, you can quickly find and eliminate skulking intruders either by running a portable security program -- one that doesn't have to be installed onto your system -- or by using a Web-based scanner.

Conveniently, Ewido Networks (now part of Grisoft, which produces the AVG antivirus utility) provides excellent tools in each category -- and both of them are free. Try the online Ewido scanner (which works only with Internet Explorer) or the free stand-alone program, which is available for downloading. Both versions update their definitions when you use them. Other good options are ClamWin Portable and Kaspersky Lab's Web scanner.

Top 17 Home Products Innovation Winner (4): UCan

posted by my-blogmedia | Wednesday, July 23, 2008 |

Hello, my-blogmedia readers. We meet again. Here we are posting the winner of product innovations that might be usefull for you. Here is the number four. Enjoy.

Honorable mention: UCan
In households that recycle, nearly all the plastic, metal and paper come straight out of the kitchen. But what about all the recyclable material from bathrooms and bedrooms?

"I feel that for recycling to be more widely adopted, it must be made as effortless as possible," says Justin Atwater-Taylor, a senior at the University of Kansas.

"I narrowed the problem down to the household bathroom because there is so much recyclable packaging sent from there to the landfill, even in households that recycle, because of convenience and sanitation issues."

Atwater-Taylor designed UCan, which divides trash from recyclables, to ship flat (the user assembles it) and to sell with no exterior packaging.

UCan itself is made of recycled materials, too. If you're wondering whether you can reduce your ecological impact without going too far out of your way, this clever receptacle has the answer: Yes, you can.

How to Boost Your Internet Connection (3): Check Your Modem Parameters

posted by my-blogmedia | Tuesday, July 22, 2008 | ,

Hi, my-blogmedia readers. Here is other tip to boost internet connection problem. This pot is the continuation of the previous post. Hope this can help you. Enjoy.

3. Check Your Modem Parameters
While you're updating the firmware, check some key parameters. First, the maximum allowed speeds (both downstream and up) should match your service plan. If they don't, your ISP didn't set your service up properly. Give your ISP a call and ask it to fix the setup remotely.
Second, look for signal-to-noise ratio (or SN margin) and line attenuation, both measured in decibels (dB). The
lower the signal-to-noise ratio, the more interference you have and the greater the number of packets that will
need to be re-sent because they didn't come through the first time. For this reason, a noisy line can dramatically cut throughput. Line attenuation measures the drop in voltage that comes with splitting the signal (especially for cable modems) and with long runs of cable or older wiring. Excessive signal loss will cause a drop in throughput.
For DSL modems, anything above about 50 dB for line attenuation is poor and 20 to 30 dB is excellent. For signal-to-noise ratio, 7 to 10 dB is marginal and 20 to 28 dB is excellent. SN margin registered at 12.5 dB, barely reaching the good range, and its line attenuation reading was 30.5 dB, which rates as very good. Note that acceptable ranges may vary depending on your service level and modem type (faster connections need to be cleaner), so check with your cable or DSL provider to see what numbers you should look for.

Wait for the next tips in the next post.

Weekly Horoscope (July 21, 2008)

posted by my-blogmedia | Monday, July 21, 2008 |

Hi all, we meet again. Here are your weekly horoscope. Enjoy.

Aries
Your love and romance zone heats up even more as the Sun moves into Leo. If you've been single for a while, you may begin to feel the stirrings of passion. Venus is here, too, creating a situation in which you appear so attractive that you can hardly be refused. You know how to charm the socks off anyone you desire and this week it becomes easier than ever to do so. Meanwhile, be prepared to tune in to and listen to your intuition on Tuesday. You seem unusually psychic at this time.

Taurus
Your home zone becomes a major focus this week as the Sun moves in on Tuesday and Mercury on Saturday. Venus is already present, so it looks as though family affairs, entertaining, decorating, and perhaps buying or selling your property may be high on the agenda. You may be thinking of ideas and ways in which you can make money using your home, perhaps by taking in a lodger or using a spare room or corner to start your own business. Any entertaining you do should go down well. The more the merrier.

Gemini
The focus changes from your personal finances to communication. The Sun and Mercury will move into Leo this week where they join Venus to make this a very auspicious area of your chart. If you need to splurge on a car or computer, you'll tend to spare no expense. You'll be looking for something that you can be proud of. This is also a very good time to think about creating a powerful and viable advertising campaign. You're likely to be noticed, and you'll make your presence felt in the marketplace in memorable ways.

Cancer
Your money zone will be highlighted from Tuesday as the Sun moves into Leo. You'll become more conscious of what you need to do to increase your personal wealth. As Venus is already in this zone, you may want to go shopping with a capital S. This is one week when you need a few luxuries to help you feel good about life. You don't have to go mad and spend all your money, but what you do buy needs to be of high quality, which will in turn have a positive effect on your self-esteem.

Leo
Finally, you can get started on all those ideas that have been on the back burner. The extra burst of energy will trigger your enthusiasm for life and encourage you to get out and about, spreading your own brand of magic. On Tuesday listen to your intuition as Mercury trines Uranus, which puts you in touch with your sixth sense. If you get a hunch about how to resolve issues associated with your joint financial affairs, then listen and take action. It's also possible that you may get a windfall or someone may return a loan.

Virgo
You won't have as much control over life events as you usually do. A higher force may seem to be shaping things in order to guide you in a new direction. It may be one quite different from the one you thought you wanted. As Mercury trines Uranus on Tuesday, be open to messages and hints from the Universe, which may come through the people you meet. They may not even be addressing you personally, but somehow a sentence will seem to have great portent and you'll know it's meant for you.

Libra
You're about to go from being busy with your career to being very busy with your social life. You'll be getting out and about a lot more often. You may become the organizer for a number of events or for one big one. You feel really good when you can get people together and create an atmosphere in which they can relax and be totally themselves. Needless to say, networking is going to work wonders for you and will help you meet even more fantastic people who'll bring fun and laughter, as well as business contacts, your way.

Scorpio
Whatever you do, you'll enjoy the feeling of being looked at. If you do well and you get to stand out from the crowd through your efforts, you'll relish being congratulated and talked about. You love it when people acknowledge your greatness, your skill, your wit, your determination, and your mastery. Now you get the chance to shine like you always wanted to. Any publicity you get this week should benefit you in a positive way – and if you feel like it you can enhance your profile quite dramatically. Go for it!

Sagittarius
The urge to explore and venture forth is always a big part of who you are, but this week it gets even stronger. The Sun and Mercury join Venus in your adventure zone, which will encourage you to travel and break away from your daily routine. You'll feel an inner restlessness that get stronger as the week goes on. Coincidentally, you may be away on vacation. If so, it looks as though you're going to have an amazing time. Expect fun, plenty of laughs and some light romance. Make the most of it.

Capricorn
A meeting over the Internet or in person may bring more than you bargained for. They're likely to have some wild and wacky experiences to share with you. They may come up with business ideas or they may deliver to you their own homespun philosophy on life. Whatever it is, you'll find their company very engaging. The Sun moves out of your partnership zone and into your eighth house on Tuesday, and Mercury moves in on Saturday. It's time to talk about your joint financial affairs with anyone who may be able to help.

Aquarius
You and your lover seem to be getting along much better recently. You aren't at each other's throats quite so much. Things have calmed down. You get plenty of opportunity to talk to each other about anything and everything and genuinely enjoy each other's company. This is also a good omen for all kinds of business partnerships, which should progress quite nicely over the course of this week. Mars in your joint financial zone is helping you come to grips with your financial affairs, but it may also be encouraging you to merge your resources with someone else.

Pisces
A new love affair may start to make significant progress. A relationship that has been progressing very slowly will suddenly become more intimate. It may still be on and off, but at least you're getting closer and beginning to understand each other - and, more importantly, trust each other. The Sun moves into your work and health zone and Mercury joins it and Venus on Saturday. At work you'll be very busy getting things organized and gathering relevant people together to brainstorm some lucrative ideas and discuss your next moves.

Batman "The Dark Knight" Hit a New Earning Record for the First Weekend

posted by my-blogmedia | Monday, July 21, 2008 |

Hi my-blogmedia readers, what a fantastic record that Batman "The Dark Night" was achieved in the first weekend according to msn news. "The Dark Knight" took in a record $155.34 million in its first weekend, topping the previous best of $151.1 million for "Spider-Man 3" in May 2007 and pacing Hollywood to its biggest weekend ever, according to studio estimates Sunday.

"We knew it would be big, but we never expected to dominate the marketplace like we did," said Dan Fellman, head of distribution for Warner Bros., which released "The Dark Knight." The movie should shoot past the $200 million mark by the end of the week, he said.
Factoring in higher admission prices, "Spider-Man 3" may have sold slightly more tickets than "The Dark Knight." At 2007's average price of $6.88, "Spider-Man 3" sold 21.96 million tickets over opening weekend. Media By Numbers estimates today's average movie prices at $7.08, which means "The Dark Knight" would have sold 21.94 million tickets.Revenue totals for "The Dark Knight" could change when final numbers are released Monday.

The movie's release was preceded by months of buzz and speculation over the performance of the late Heath Ledger as the Joker, Batman's nemesis. Ledger, who died in January from an accidental prescription-drug overdose, played the Joker as a demonic presence, his performance prompting predictions that the role might earn him a posthumous Academy Award nomination.

"The Dark Knight" reunites director Christopher Nolan with his "Batman Begins" star Christian Bale, whose vigilante crime-fighter is taunted and tested by Ledger's Joker as the villain unleashes violence and chaos on the city of Gotham.

"Every single show is sold out," said Greg Foster, IMAX chairman and president. "We're adding shows as much as we can, but we're at 100 percent capacity."

Top 10 Cheater Animals (2): Orangutan

Readers, continuing the previous post, here are the top 10 cheater animals based on survey. Now my-blogmedia presenting number 2. Here it is. Enjoy.

Orangutan
Orangutans are remarkably bright. In fact, some experts say their smarts are second only to humans. And like humans, orangutans have used their intelligence to craft tools. That's where the cheater part comes in -- these creatures often use their tools to pick the locks of their own cages. In fact, they are so cunning when it comes to breaking and entering (or exiting) that zookeepers have used orangutans to test the security of enclosures for other animals. Next up: safe-cracking?

posted by my-blogmedia | Monday, July 21, 2008 |

Hi rockers, here are the Top 25 Best Heavy Metal Bands according to yahoo music site recently. Here is number 16 position.

Dio
Ronnie James Dio is what we call a lifer. A Heavy Metal Zelig, always somewhere in the mix, whether it's with Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Elf or his own self-titled Dio. One of the originators of that vibrato-heavy metallic moan, Dio not only qualifies for a lifetime achievement award for his contributions to furthering the cause of Metal throughout the world but for Medicare in this country. And they credit him with that funny hand gesture!

Third place (tie): BIN
Cleaning up the kitchen floor is a multitool task. So why should the vacuum, broom and kitchen pail all be kept in separate closets and cabinets around the home?

San Jose State University sophomore Faris Elmasu believes everything belongs right there in the kitchen, at the source of a mess.

BIN, his refined design, features a lightweight vacuum with a flexible head and a motor-powered brush on the bottom for sweeping up debris. Best of all, the spring-loaded handle telescopes down to snap into storing position right on the front of the BIN garbage can. The young designer credits his mother for inspiring his invention: "She's a great cook but also a neat freak," Elmasu says.

Top 10 Cheater Animals (3): Virginia opossum

posted by my-blogmedia | Saturday, July 19, 2008 |

Readers, continuing the previous post, here are the top 10 cheater animals based on survey. Now my-blogmedia presenting number 4. Here it is. Enjoy.

Virginia opossum

The Virginia opossum cheats death by reacting to threats with an unusual tactic -- taking an immediate nap. More specifically, this is where the term "playing possum" stems from, which is often used to describe an attempt to pretend to be dead or injured with an intent to deceive. These slow-moving animals really take their performances seriously by actually going into a catatonic state to make it seem like they are really dead, even when poked. Of course, this defense mechanism doesn't work so well when there's a car involved -- kind of hard for drivers to tell the difference between faux road kill and the real thing. Oops.

posted by my-blogmedia | Friday, July 18, 2008 |

Hi traveller, continuing the previous post, here is the top 10 Beaches for 2008. We post the feature one by one. Be patient. Enjoy the number 3 position.

Siesta Beach, Sarasota, Florida
Siesta is a barrier island off the central western coast of Florida in the United States of America. It is situated between Sarasota Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. A portion of it lies within the city boundary of Sarasota, but the majority of the key is a census-designated place (CDP) in Sarasota County. After the probable Amerindian name of Zarazote for the area and the bay, the key was originally named Sarasota Key by European cartographers during exploration beginning in 1513. That name can be seen on maps from the early 1700s as well as on all local maps drawn before the name change to Siesta Key in the 1920s. The population was 7,150 at the 2000 census.

Hi rockers, continuing the the Top 25 Best Heavy Metal Bands posting based on yahoo music site recently. Here is number 17 position.

Kiss
They may never get the respect they crave. But they've got the sales they always wanted. If any band can be said to be a retail industry, it's Kiss. While so many bemoan the fate of the music business since music is so often distributed free these days, Kiss were already making merchandise a key monetary hub in their organization while others were busy building up their reputations with critics. Now grab your Kiss lunchbox and set it down on your Ace Frehley dinette set with those Peter Criss utensils to nicely cut up that Gene Simmons Bologna and Paul Stanley Liverwurst. I don't even own this paragraph. Gene Simmons does.

Hi, my-blogmedia readers. Here is other tip to boost your internet connection problem? This pot is continuation of the previous post. Hope this can help you. Enjoy.

2. Update Your Firmware or Get a New Modem
If your cable or DSL modem is more than a couple of years old, ask your ISP for a new one. The exchange will probably be free; if there is a fee, you can usually waive it by agreeing to a new one-year contract. The latest cable modems meet the DOCSIS 2.0 (Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification) standard. If you have a 1.1 modem and a high-throughput plan, you'll likely experience a large speed increase just by swapping modems.

Even with a brand-new modem, make sure that you have the latest firmware installed. I upgraded my two-year-old Efficient Networks 5100b DSL modem from firmware version 1.0.0.39 to 1.0.0.53 and immediately saw my Speedtest throughput increase from 5.3 mbps to 5.9 mbps, just a hair below the 6 mbps that I'm paying for. Cable providers such as Comcast usually push new firmware to modems, so there's no need for most cable modem users to perform upgrades themselves.

To update your DSL modem, you'll have to connect to its Web interface, which means that you'll need to know the IP address of the modem on your local network. This information should be in your user manual; alternatively, you can find default settings for most modems on the Internet. The address will probably look something like 192.168.100.1 or 192.168.0.1. Enter this character string into your browser and the Web interface should come up. You'll likely have to sign in, using either a security code printed on the bottom of the modem or a default username and password (unless you previously changed it). Write down the login information for future reference.

Once you've logged in, check the firmware number on the status page and see whether a newer version of the firmware is available on the manufacturer's site. If it is, download this more recent firmware to your PC and then find and run the firmware update procedure from the modem's browser utility. Reboot, rerun Speedtest and see whether your data is traveling faster. Besides boosting transfer speeds, using a new modem or updated firmware can solve a host of nagging connection issues, such as intermittent dropouts.

Hope this can help you. Wait for the next tips in the next post.

How to make your Computer Run Faster (6): Monitor's Resolution

posted by my-blogmedia | Thursday, July 17, 2008 | ,

Hi, just continuing the previous posting, how to make everything run faster?. Here is another tip for you. Read it.

Change your monitor's resolution
As a general rule, you should keep your monitor adjusted to its highest resolution. There are exceptions, however. Some programs, especially games, run better with fewer pixels displayed. And if your laptop becomes confused when you plug it into an external monitor, you may find yourself having to revisit the Settings tab of Windows' Display Properties box annoyingly often.

Hanuman monkey

The Hanuman monkey is a total cheat because it steals with impunity -- thanks to the fact that its namesake is a
Hindu monkey god worshipped by millions of people. Known for its strength and valor, this highly revered primate has a lifelong get-out-of-jail-free card. Nothing is off-limits to the Hanuman monkey -- food, drinks, clothes, your toupee. Some people will even put these creatures into training to steal on their behalf. If Clooney and Pitt want to save some dough on production costs on the next "Ocean's 11" movie, perhaps they might consider casting these sneaky fellas, hahaha.

Top 10 Cheapest Places for Vacation (10) : Argentina

posted by my-blogmedia | Wednesday, July 16, 2008 |

Hi, my-blogmedia readers. Continuing the previous post, finally we are proudly present the last place of top 10 cheapest places in the world for your trip or vacation. Here is number 10 place. Enjoy.

Argentina
Argentina has one of the few currencies that's faring even worse than the dollar. The result? An incredible steal for U.S. travelers, who are downright giddy at all the luxury within their reach. Begin your trip in sophisticated Buenos Aires, a city of grand boulevards and tango salons. Carnivores will think they've died and gone to heaven: Parrillas (barbecue joints) offer incomparable steak dinners for $10.

A bed in a hostel goes for $9, but in this town, $40 or $50 a night buys an extremely comfortable midrange hotel room. Buenos Aires is only a preview of what Argentina has to offer. The beach resort of Mar del Plata is legendary for its rollicking nightlife. The garden city of Mendoza makes a great base for touring the wine country or taking on a whitewater rafting challenge. Or fly to the ends of the earth to see the towering peaks and glaciers of Patagonia and stroll among the friendly penguin colonies at Punta Tombo.

The Geddy Lee-led trio, which is currently on tour, hasn't played on U.S. television since 1975.

Rush is only the latest act to perform on "The Report," which has steadily edged closer to "Ed Sullivan Show" territory. With increasingly frequent musical performances, "The Report" has grown a variety-show impulse, evident in other upcoming bookings.

Ronaldinho moves to AC Milan

posted by my-blogmedia | Wednesday, July 16, 2008 |

Hello football maniac, Finally AC Milan signed Ronaldinho as the new player for this year transfer session. Here is the detail.

Brazilian superstar Ronaldinho agreed to leave Barcelona, where he was deemed surplus to requirements, and sign for AC Milan in a deal reported to be worth 30 million dollars.

"AC Milan and FC Barcelona have reached an agreement for the transfer of Ronaldinho," said a Milan statement released on the club's official website.

The Gazzetta dello Sport reported that Milan will pay Barcelona 18.5 million euros (29.5 million dollars) for the World Cup winner with the figure likely to be increased by performance-related bonuses.

The news of the deal was a bodyblow to English Premier League side Manchester City who had offered 32 million euros for the two-time world player of the year.

Ronaldinho, who was not wanted at the Nou Camp by new Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola following a dip in form last season, scored 70 goals in 145 appearances for the Spanish side.

Meanwhile, Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti is looking forward to having Ronaldinho in his team as the San Siro giants aim to bounce back from their disappointing 2007/2008 season which saw them finish in fifth place in Serie A and miss out on Champions League qualification.

He added that the team will line-up so as to make best use of the Brazilian and his international teammate Kaka, with the pair playing behind either veteran Italy international striker Filippo Inzaghi or teenage Brazilian sensation Alexander Pato.

"We will play with a 4-3-2-1 formation. It's a model that has worked well for us and brought us great satisfaction. It's our trademark and it will be again this year, with or without Ronaldinho. Our only objective is to win playing good football. This is Milan," he added.

Having won two Champions League titles, 49-year-old Ancelotti said that returning to the pinnacle of the European club game was the team's priority.

"We start the season wanting to improve; being out of the Champions League is hard to take, therefore we will do everything to return there as soon as possible."

Top 17 Home Products Innovation Winner (3a): Della

posted by my-blogmedia | Tuesday, July 15, 2008 |

Hello, my-blogmedia readers. Here we are posting the winner of product innovations that might be usefull for you. Here is the the Third place (tie). We have two winner in number 3 position. Enjoy.

Third place (tie): Della
In a class at San Jose State University, sophomore Alex Brown was reviewing photos of various products in their environments. When he saw a collection of flashlights — all of them without batteries and uselessly stored in a basement — he sought a solution to an age-old problem.

The invention he calls Della not only renders the conventional household flashlight obsolete but also functions as floor lamp, flashlight and lantern. Portable and fixed lamps, looking like short lightsabers, are cradled in holders on the arms of a slender post.

Della casts ambient light as a decorative lamp, and its base charges the portables so that they can easily be removed any time a flashlight or lamp is needed.

Brown's design has the singular appeal of updating the look and function of a gothic candleholder for the contemporary home. Much like a candle would have been lifted from its post to be carried around the castle, each of Della's illuminating bars stands ready at all times to light the way.

Weekly Horoscope (July 14, 2008)

posted by my-blogmedia | Tuesday, July 15, 2008 |

Hi all, we meet again. Here are your weekly horoscope. Enjoy.

Aries
It takes you a while to get into your groove this week. On Monday you feel sluggish as the Moon squares your ruler Mars in your sector of health. On Friday you're in for a surprise as the Full Moon takes place in your sector of reputation. Someone you thought you could trust is talking about you behind your back, and yes, this person is motivated by envy. You thought this person was a friend, but your judgment was off. Maybe warning signs were apparent, but you weren't able to pick up on them. Chalk up your situation to a learning experience.

Taurus
You have no control over anyone else's actions, and this week that reality becomes clear to you, Taurus. On Friday you're disappointed in a family member you helped out. You thought the favor would be returned when you needed a helping hand. Now the time has come and your relative isn't up to the task. Take heart, since on Sunday a friend comes to your rescue when the Moon enters compassionate Pisces and your sector of associates. It's a great idea for you to chill out and just indulge yourself. Don't feel guilty; you've had a lot of stress recently.

Gemini
Gemini, this week you go in a new direction. You're a very logical air sign and you think before you take any action. Your ruler, Mercury, is currently in emotional and sensitive Cancer and you'll find yourself reacting to any and all scenarios with your heart as opposed to your mind. You also may emote quite a bit. On Friday take a step back and review your plan to reinvent your image. Do you really need to undergo a drastic makeover? You may be going to extremes, so try to moderate your plans for yourself and your image.

Cancer
The illustrious Sun in Cancer shines in your sector of self all week, giving you a positive energy boost. That's good, Moonchild, since with a Full Moon on Friday you'll encounter upsets and you'll be overly sensitive for a while. On Saturday a new door opens for you, but it might not be one that you should walk through! You don't need to seize upon every opportunity that comes your way. Before you accept your new opportunity, make a list of all the pros and cons and read it over several times. After that, you may have a new perspective.

Leo
You won't be able to keep your mind on your responsibilities this week, Leo, since all you want to do is play. On Tuesday the Moon in Sagittarius conjuncts Pluto retrograde in your sector of fun and amusements and you're off to the races. You'll postpone your normal duties and just enjoy yourself. On Friday the Full Moon takes place in your sector of daily activities and you have to deal with your unfinished business. Get ready to roll up your sleeves and cope with many messy situations. On Sunday your timing is off, so don't attempt any detailed projects.

Virgo
You put your detective hat on this week and solve puzzles that have perplexed and stymied you. On Monday Mercury, your ruler, sextiles Saturn in Virgo and your ability to plod through even the hardest tangle of facts and figures will be strong. Remember, you're ruled by the planet that governs the mind, and no person or circumstance can fool you for long. You catch on too quickly for that! On Wednesday your ability to take charge of your own life expands. You'll decide to stop procrastinating and take the steps you need to create your own happiness.

Libra
Errors in judgment happen to everyone, Libra, even to clever air signs like you. Yes, you can make mistakes and recently you made a doozy. On Monday you have a flash of insight about a way out of your current dilemma. Pay attention to your dreams this week, since your sixth sense is strong right now, thanks to karmic Saturn in your sector of intuition. Your unconscious mind is talking to you via your dream state, so write down your dreams and you'll be surprised at what you learn about yourself and your life situation.

Scorpio
Prepare yourself for a lovely surprise on Tuesday, Scorpio, as the Moon conjuncts your ruler, powerful and profound Pluto, as it moves retrograde in optimistic Sagittarius. You may find that a special wish you made is granted, and once that happens you'll begin to have faith in all the magical possibilities around you. On Saturday your thinking patterns may zigzag quite a bit as Mercury opposes excessive Jupiter in your sector of the mind and imagination. Your thoughts will be uncharacteristically scattered and your attention span will be quite limited. Don't count on accomplishing your agenda in your normal organized fashion this weekend.

Sagittarius
No one will say you didn't start your week out with a bang, Sag! The Moon is in fiery Sagittarius and you're ready to state your case to anyone you encounter. You'll be able to find the right balance between standing up for yourself and being aggressive. On Saturday you need to temper your desire for a brand new life with some reality. Yes, you want to fly the coop and break up the monotony you're experiencing right now, but leaving everything behind and signing up to take a round-the-world cruise may not be in your best interests.

Capricorn
You knew your life was going to change, Cappie, you just didn't realize it was going to happen so soon. On Friday the Full Moon takes place in Capricorn in your sector of self and you take a new road in your life journey. You resisted this change, but now you know it's in your own best interests. Embrace life's opportunities! On Saturday your desires overtake your common sense. You know that you shouldn't go off your diet, but how can you resist a double chocolate ice cream sundae? Indulge yourself, but get back on your diet once you've had your treat.

Aquarius
You do some serious thinking this week, and once you're through with your analysis, you'll change some fundamental areas of your life. You usually go with the flow and you have a tendency to defer to others. This week you change that scenario, since you want to be captain of your own ship and steer your own course. Mercury sextiles determined Saturn in your sector of transformation, and you take control of your life and make decisions that are necessary for you to be happy and content. On Sunday the Moon conjuncts Neptune in Aquarius and your idealism will reawaken.

Pisces
This week you take a risk, surprise everyone, and emerge a winner. On Monday the Sun in Cancer in your sector of taking chances trines innovative Uranus in Pisces and you discover it's OK to dream impossible dreams. You're ruled by intuitive Neptune and you were born to reach for the stars. It's your nature to be a dreamer, and sometimes your dreams come true. On Saturday you come back to earth with a bang as issues with a close friend rile you up and leave you frustrated. Broaden your social network and find other associates to spend time with.
