posted by my-blogmedia | Thursday, November 27, 2008 |

Hi my-blogmedia rockers, here are the Top 25 Best Heavy Metal Bands according to yahoo music site recently. Here is in number 1 position.

Black Sabath
The lords of darkness who were always trying to find the sunshine but couldn't find the energy to lift the blinds. By keeping it simple and focusing on the most elemental elements, Black Sabbath mastered the art of the powerchord and the downward spiral. Killing themselves to live, never saying die and fighting the war pigs! What a legacy!

Top 25 Best Heavy Metal Band (2) : Led Zeppelin

posted by my-blogmedia | Saturday, November 22, 2008 |

Hi my-blogmedia rockers, here are the Top 25 Best Heavy Metal Bands according to yahoo music site recently. Here is in number 2 position.

Led Zeppelin:
Zep never stayed in one place too long and while Jimmy Page had an arsenal of riffs for aspiring young guitarists to emulate, the band coasted off into acoustic Hobbit tributes and art-rock when they got bored. But their complete demolition of the blues was damn impressive, whether it was Bonzo's beating the drums into submission or Bob Plant screeching for another inch of his love.

Top 25 Best Heavy Metal Band (3) : AC/DC

posted by my-blogmedia | Sunday, November 09, 2008 |

Hi my-blogmedia rockers, here are the Top 25 Best Heavy Metal Bands according to yahoo music site recently. Here is number 3 position.

AC/DC:
Chords on top of chords, hooks on top of hooks and two singers--Bon Scott and Brian Johnson--who combined for a serious number of knockout punches. AC/DC knew how to flirt with radio without losing the crunch. And how Angus manages to bang his head and hop around the stage to this day remains one of metal's unsolved mysteries.

Top 25 Best Heavy Metal Band (4) : Van Halen

posted by my-blogmedia | Thursday, October 23, 2008 |

Hi my-blogmedia rockers, here are the Top 25 Best Heavy Metal Bands according to yahoo music site recently. Here is number 4 position.

Van Halen
Some metallists say these guys aren't metal because they like girls and to party and they cover the Kinks, Roy Orbison and Motown. But have you heard Eddie's tone? He re-taught the guitar for an entire decade and while they lose points for employing Sammy Hagar (whose band Montrose, you'll note, is absent from this list), they did once bring us that ultimate, premium, all natural ham of hams, the great David Lee Roth.

Top 25 Best Heavy Metal Band (5) : Jimi Hendrix Experience

posted by my-blogmedia | Friday, October 10, 2008 |

Hi my-blogmedia rockers, here are the Top 25 Best Heavy Metal Bands according to yahoo music site recently. Here is number 5 position.

Jimi Hendrix Experience
Hendrix was far more than some heavy metal guitarist. Putting his music in any box is useless because it always sneaks out. But from the opening notes of "Purple Haze," it's obvious that Jimi was interested in being louder than the other boys. While it's an obvious shame that he didn't live through the ensuing decades, it's a blessing that he came of age at a time when musicians relied on band chemistry and not Pro-Tools to make their magic. Because as good as Hendrix was, he also knew how to pick the right supporting cast.

Top 25 Best Heavy Metal Band (6) : Metallica

posted by my-blogmedia | Friday, September 26, 2008 |

Hi my-blogmedia rockers, here are the Top 25 Best Heavy Metal Bands according to yahoo music site recently. Here is number 6 position.

Metallica
Whether their new album this Fall brings them back up a few pegs remains to be seen, but before they started a virtual war with their fans over $$ (weird, coming from a band who'd already raked in more than most bands would see in a lifetime) and put out St. Anger, the album that made people think that maybe Load was worse than they originally rationalized, Metallica were once the lords of a new generation. Master Of Puppets remains one of the sacred treaties and the self-titled Black Album is that one metal album that non-metal people own and pull out to prove they "like" heavy metal. Enjoy "Enter Sandman" song.

Top 25 Best Heavy Metal Band (7) : Judast Priest

posted by my-blogmedia | Tuesday, September 16, 2008 |

Hi my-blogmedia rockers, here are the Top 25 Best Heavy Metal Bands according to yahoo music site recently. Here is number 7 position.

Judas Priest
Their songs were always pretty catchy for a metal band. Very brief and always spoken in the same punctuated strain that he uses for the climax of their best tunes. In other words, Rob Halford never lets up the intensity or drops the mask. He is the dominator on that stage and with two guys--K.K. Downing and Glenn Tipton--on guitars who virtually defined the overused trope "twin-guitar attack"--how much more definitive do you need?

Top 25 Best Heavy Metal Band (8) : Aerosmith

Hi my-blogmedia rockers, here are the Top 25 Best Heavy Metal Bands according to yahoo music site recently. Here is number 8 position.

Aerosmith
There are those who will swear they aren't heavy metal. They were once considered a Rolling Stones ripoff because Steven Tyler had big lips like Jagger and Joe Perry was the sullen shadow playing the role of Keith Richards. But this bluesy, R&B-based hard rock band wrote stuff like "Toys In The Attic," "Back In The Saddle" and "Draw The Line" before crashing, burning and reforming in the ‘80s to further a more commercialized rock sound that sure sounded like a lot of heavy metal at the time.

Motorhead
By never swerving from their ideals, Motorhead managed to win the hearts and souls of metal loyalists everywhere while simultaneously gathering punks and critics (same thing?) for their cause. Playing louder than others proved to be a key strategic move. Writing "Ace Of Spades" proved to be the other.

Avril Lavigne Concert in Malaysia Will be Stopped?

posted by my-blogmedia | Friday, August 22, 2008 |

Hi readers. A protest from Malaysian community come to Avril Lavigne. Can they stop the concert?. We will see then.

Malaysia's Islamic opposition party has urged the government to cancel a concert by Avril Lavigne, saying the Canadian singer's on-stage moves are "too sexy," an official said Monday.

Lavigne, a Grammy-nominated rock singer who burst to fame with her 2002 debut album "Let's Go," plans to start her monthlong Asia tour with a performance in Kuala Lumpur on Aug. 29.

The youth wing of the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party said Lavigne's concert would promote wrong values ahead of Malaysia's Aug. 31 independence day.

"It is considered too sexy for us. ... It's not good for viewers in Malaysia," said Kamarulzaman Mohamed, a party official. "We don't want our people, our teenagers, influenced by their performance. We want clean artists, artists that are good role models."

Kamarulzaman said he sent a protest letter to the Culture, Arts and Heritage Ministry and the Kuala Lumpur mayor last week, calling for the concert to be canceled.

An official from the Culture Ministry's department that vets all foreign artists said the government has not given permission for the concert yet. The department is to meet Tuesday to decide on the organizer's application, which was received last week.

The official declined to be named because she is not authorized to make public statements. Malaysia requires all performers to wear clothes without obscene or drug-related images and be covered from chest to knees. They must also refrain from jumping, shouting, hugging and kissing on stage.

Last year, pop singer Gwen Stefani made what she called "a major sacrifice" by donning clothes that revealed little skin at a performance here.

Also last year, Christina Aguilera skipped Malaysia during an Asian tour that included neighboring Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines, while R&B superstar Beyonce scratched a planned concert here, moving it to Indonesia.

A Pussycat Dolls concert in 2006 was fined 10,000 ringgit (US$2,857) after the U.S. girl group was accused of flouting decency regulations.

Top 25 Best Heavy Metal Band (10) : Iron Maiden

posted by my-blogmedia | Wednesday, August 20, 2008 |

Hi my-blogmedia rockers, here are the Top 25 Best Heavy Metal Bands according to yahoo music site recently. Here is number 10 position.

Iron Maiden
Just caught a live concert of theirs from 1985 on--where else?--a sports network. Great, since the music networks can't be bothered. And boy did these guys look kind of funny with all that billowing smoke and weird prancing around--and those spandex tights. In some respects, almost as good as Spinal Tap, and in some ways better since they were serious. "Rime Of The Ancient Mariner" is ponderous, but the hoof-beating gallop of "The Trooper" and just about anything from The Number Of The Beast makes up for their inherent corniness.?

Tallan the 8 Years Old Guitarist

posted by my-blogmedia | Friday, August 15, 2008 | ,

Hi, readers. This boy is amazing. He play like a guitar hero. What a wonderful boy. Read the post.
When Tallan "T-Man" Latz was 5, he saw Joe Satriani playing guitar on TV. "I turned around to my dad and said, "That's exactly what I want to do.'"

Three years and countless hours of practicing later, 8-year-old Tallan is a blues guitar prodigy. He's played in bars and clubs, including the House of Blues in Chicago, and even jammed with Les Paul and Jackson Browne. He has a summer of festivals scheduled and has drawn interest from venues worldwide.

And what, you might ask, would a kid not even in the third grade have the blues about? The state of Wisconsin for one, and some possibly jealous older musicians for another.

An anonymous e-mail sent to state officials complained that Tallan was too young to perform in taverns and nightclubs because of state child labor laws. His booking agent even got an anonymous letter threatening her with death if she keeps booking him.

When Tallan's father read him the state's letter saying he couldn't play clubs anymore (he can still play festivals), the boy's response — like his music — seemed beyond his years.

"He goes, 'It's not how many times you get knocked down but it's how many times you get back up and go forward,' Carl Latz said his son told him. "And I told him that's exactly what this is all about and if nothing else this letter just taught you a life lesson."

The lesson can be stiff: Each day he performs, the employer can be fined $25 to $1,000 and the parent from $10 to $250.

Jennifer Ortiz of the state Equal Rights Division said her agency has a responsibility to enforce the law once it becomes aware of a violation.

"Well, the law prohibits it, and the Legislature enacted the laws to protect the health, safety and welfare of all children."

Tallan's agent, Sharon Pomaville, said she received a threatening letter June 2 warning her to stop booking the boy. She thinks he's a local musician and believes he's harmless. Deputies came to her house, but she didn't want to pursue the case.

Greg Koch, 42, an internationally known guitarist and clinician for Fender Musical Instruments, called the backlash despicable. He said most 8-year-olds don't have the strength or attention span to pursue guitar or can't endure the calluses.

"It's strange that a kid at this age would glean onto this particular kind of music and show the intensity and kind of the ability to function as kind of 8-year-old blues guy," he said.

Brad Tolinski, editor-in-chief of Guitar World magazine, said kid guitar prodigies are rare, with one emerging perhaps every four or five years. "It would be unusual to find an 8-year-old who can play Joe Satriani licks," he said.

Tallan, whose heroes are Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan, has 13 guitars and endorsements from at least nine companies to use their equipment. He can read music but plays mostly from memory.

He has two bands — one with veterans called T-Man's Blues Project and another with 16-and-younger bandmates called Tallan "The T-Man" Latz and the Young Guns. He also sings and plays drums, harmonica, bass and piano.

Top 25 Best Heavy Metal Band (11) : Slayer

posted by my-blogmedia | Saturday, August 09, 2008 |

Hi rockers, here are the Top 25 Best Heavy Metal Bands according to yahoo music site recently. Here is number 11 position.

Slayer
Slayer redefined "heavy" back in the 1980s by speeding things up to the point of hardcore punk but with intricate riffs and shout-outs to Satan that made them obvious followers of the Metal church. With such a volatile sound and temperament, who would've thought they'd still be hanging together this many years later?

Top 25 Best Heavy Metal Band (12) : Deep Purple

posted by my-blogmedia | Friday, August 01, 2008 |

Hi rockers, here are the Top 25 Best Heavy Metal Bands according to yahoo music site recently. Here is number 12 position.

Deep Purple
While Sabbath and Zeppelin have gone on to be immortalized, Deep Purple have fallen dangerously behind. Ritchie Blackmore deserves better than to be lumped in with the "Where Were They Then?" pile. "Smoke On The Water" may be obvious, but "Space Truckin'" and the rest of Machine Head should be textbook cases for all aspiring young hard rockers. And they were purple when only hippies were ruining the color and not dinosaurs and Prince.

Top 25 Best Heavy Metal Band (13) : Spinal Tap

posted by my-blogmedia | Wednesday, July 30, 2008 |

Hi rockers, here are the Top 25 Best Heavy Metal Bands according to yahoo music site recently. Here is number 13 position.

Spinal Tap
Everyone says they weren't real. Yet I will put them on every Heavy Metal list possible, since their material--you know, the songs--are every bit as good as the "real" thing. And even if they never really did record an album called Intravenus DeMilo, they should've. And if the budget had been there, they just might've. And who's to say Shark Sandwich isn't just the victim of a clever two word put-down review? Maybe someone should go back and re-evaluate this band's imaginary oeuvre.

Hi rockers, here are the Top 25 Best Heavy Metal Bands according to yahoo music site recently. Here is number 15 position.

Robin Trower
You know the guy from Procol Harum? Ok, that doesn't help. Well, ask a heavy metal guitarist sometime who's among their favorite players and nearly every time you'll hear people bring up the name Robin Trower, whose solo albums from the early ‘70s are pretty damn staggering in their sludgy-blues heaviness. This is back when the music didn't mind bringing you down. Which just goes to show what a good Quaalude can do. Start with Bridge Of Sighs.
