Turkey beat Euro 2004 semi-finalists Czech Republic 3-2 in their Euro 2008 group A match here on Sunday.
Turkey produced a stunning comeback from 2-0 down to score three goals in the final 15 minutes.Veteran Jan Koller and then Jaroslav Plasil gave the Czechs a 2-0 advantage before Arda Turan reduced the deficit in the 75th minute.
Then an horrendous error by Czech goalkeeper Petr Cech allowed Turkish captain Nihat Kahveci to level three minutes from time and he added a second with one minute remaining.
Even more drama was to follow as Turkish 'keeper Volkan Demirel was redcarded by Swedish referee Peter Frojdfeldt for pushing over Koller and then Czech reserve striker Milan Baros was booked even though he wasn't on the pitch.
However, Turkey held on to book a quarter-final place against Group B winners Croatia in Vienna on Friday while defeat signalled the end for 68-year-old Czech coach Karel Bruckner, who was to step down as soon as their interest ended in the competition.
