Just as you were starting to make some headway, along comes Mercury retrograde. There is quite a focus on your communication zone, which is great for your personal life and business affairs overall. The more you reach out and connect, the more easily your dreams and hopes will be fulfilled. As Mercury is also in Gemini, it means that the next few weeks are best spent gathering information and working out a plan or strategy for the future. If you want to write a book, then use this time to structure it and research possible agents or publishers.
Libra
Taurus
Mercury turns retrograde in your personal financial zone, which may bring delays to payments, either through computer error or other reasons. Be sure to check pay slips and bank statements, as these are where confusion occurs and mistakes are made. Overall, you seem to be taking a good look at your financial situation and deciding where you can make some major changes. You may be spending a lot more than usual. But if you buy any big-ticket items it may be a good idea to keep the receipts just in case.
Gemini
You'll be feeling in top form and capable of taking the world by storm. The presence of the Sun, Venus, and Mercury in your sign gives you added energy and more credibility. The only potential fly in the ointment is that Mercury turns retrograde on Monday, which may hold up some of your plans for the next few weeks. If it's at all possible, try to hold off signing important papers or contracts. If you have to go ahead, keep all the paperwork so that you have everything on hand you need.
Cancer
There's a lot happening in your twelfth house, so you're very much in tune with your inner being and spiritual self. Your dreams may be more powerful than usual and your intuition more noticeable and insistent. This is the time of year when it helps to take some time out to reflect on your motives and goals. This week and the weeks ahead may resemble a gestation period in which you have the opportunity to work with spiritual energy to manifest your desires. But fate will have a hand in your affairs, too.
Leo
Mars in your sign means you're more enthusiastic than ever about your life and plans. You seem to radiate energy and light and because of this others are drawn to you. Socially, you have plenty to look forward to with meetings and events that could bring more business and plenty more friendships your way. Mercury will turn retrograde on Monday, which may mean mixed messages and some confusion. Be sure to write down any appointments you have and check spellings of streets, hotels, and people you're supposed to meet; otherwise you could be very embarrassed.
Virgo
The Sun, Venus, and Mercury are all moving through Gemini, which is perfect for getting in touch with executives, bosses, and others who pull the strings. If you're looking for a new career, this a good time to make inquiries and gather information. As Mercury turns retrograde on Monday, you need to be careful when signing new contracts, since your expectations may not be met. If it's possible to wait until Mercury turns direct on June 19, you'll have a much smoother and more satisfying experience of starting a new job.
Scorpio
Mercury will turn retrograde and affect joint financial affairs. You may find delays occur and the waiting period for hearing about loans, mortgages, and other credit matters may appear to drag on and on. There isn't too much you can do except be patient. It isn't advisable to sign new agreements, as your situation may change or other factors may mean the offer isn't as desirable as it once seemed. If you can wait until Mercury turns direct on June 19, you'll find that the whole process goes much more smoothly.
Sagittarius
Mercury will turn retrograde on Monday, so from this point until June 19 isn't the best time to sign contracts or commit to any new agreements. If you've been thinking of getting an agent to represent your work or finding a business partner, it would be best to hold back until after the above date. Mars in your adventure zone is encouraging you to travel further afield and enjoy taking in the sights and sounds of other cultures. The chance to explore and relax would do you so much good. It's time to pamper yourself.
Capricorn
You feel invincible and have a built-in confidence that's able to overcome almost any obstacle. But you still need to take care while Mercury is retrograde. It turns retrograde on Monday in Gemini in your work zone. So despite your determination to get ahead, you'll need to exercise caution. This is a good time to check that your antivirus software is up to date and that you've backed up important data. Keep documents in a safe place so that you know where they are and can reach them easily if necessary.
Aquarius
Neptune and Mercury turn retrograde on Monday. This means that you need to be even more careful that you don't give out mixed messages. You can be something of a chameleon at the best of times, but you could be even more of an enigma over the coming weeks. If you want to appear mysterious and hard to understand, it won't be too difficult, but if you want to make perfect sense, then you're going to have to try harder. It means checking that others really have understood your message and know what you're about.
Pisces
Your health and your performance at work are greatly energized by the presence of Mars. It's a good time to take action to remove obstacles and stand up for your cause. But as Mercury turns retrograde on Monday, you'll need to take extra care when signing contracts and making commitments. It's best to wait until after June 19. If you can't, be sure to keep all your paperwork so you can resolve any issues that may arise. This also applies if you happen to be buying or selling a property. Do the groundwork first.

As a kid, I can remember going to the supermarket and grabbing any random cardboard carton of eggs off the shelf. I would run them home (top speed!) to my mother because they were usually going into a delicious coffeecake or batch of corn bread.
Times have changed. Cage-free? Organic? Brown? White? Omega-3s? Help! Here are some tips to help you figure out which eggs you should be eating:
Brown or white?
Extra Omega-3s?
Does your egg need exercise?

$56 million in first 2 days for "Indiana Jones" ...
posted by my-blogmedia | Tuesday, May 27, 2008 | movieHe may be older, but Indiana Jones is still finding box office treasure. Paramount's "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," the fourth film in the action-adventure series starring Harrison Ford, earned $56 million in its first two days, Media By Numbers president Paul Dergarabedian said. After earning $25 million in its Thursday debut, the Steven Spielberg-directed movie brought in another $31 million Friday.
"These are very solid numbers, no question about it. The fact that earnings went up on the second day is a good sign," Dergarabedian said. "Whether it's on pace to beat "Pirates'" numbers from last Memorial Day remains to be seen."
Last year, "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" set the record for a Memorial Day weekend opening, earning $153 million including Thursday night preview grosses. "Indiana Jones" will need a strong weekend finish to top the year's biggest hit so far, "Iron Man," which pulled in $98.6 million domestically in its first weekend. The film opened early Thursday in 4,260 theaters, according to Media By Numbers.
"Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," the first film in 19 years about the archaeologist-adventurer, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival this month to tepid reviews.

You've made a few Skype calls and you've looked into digital phone service from your broadband provider, but that's as close as you've gotten to VoIP (voice over IP) technology. Or so you think. In truth, VoIP is revolutionizing the telecom industry, blurring the lines between voice calls and digital networks.
Those prepaid calling cards that offer rock-bottom international rates? VoIP makes them possible. Similarly, a growing number of businesses use VoIP behind the scenes to eliminate long-distance charges between branch offices.Routing calls over the Internet circumvents traditional telephone company charges, and fewer fees and taxes mean lower prices. Digital calls are easier to direct and manage, which makes them attractive even to traditional telephone companies. Don't be surprised if soon the landline you've lived with forever is replaced by an all-digital alternative -- though you'll likely be none the wiser.

Manchester United hit Chelsea 6-5 to win the Champion Cup...!!
posted by my-blogmedia | Thursday, May 22, 2008 | sportIn the first final between two English teams, Edwin van der Sar batted away Nicolas Anelka’s drive on the 14th kick to give Manchester United its third Champions League title. This championship, following titles in 1968 and 1999, came in the 50th anniversary year of the plane crash that killed eight United players in Munich, Germany.
Cristiano Ronaldo had scored in the 26th minute for Manchester United, his 42nd goal of the season. Frank Lampard tied it for Chelsea in the 45th at Luzhniki Stadium, pointing both hands skyward in honor of his mother, who died last month.
Ronaldo, considered by many Europe’s top player this season, was stopped by goalkeeper Petr Cech on United’s third penalty kick. That gave the advantage to Chelsea, which has never won Europe’s top club title.
“When we missed the penalty kick, we thought we were in trouble,” said United’s Alex Ferguson, who led the club to its 22nd title overall since he became manager in September 1986. Chelsea captain John Terry stepped up with the score 4-4 and the chance to win it. But he slipped and his kick hit a post as Manchester keeper Edwin van der Sar dived the other way. Terry sat on the ground in disbelief.
“I was thinking he’s going to score,” United defender Rio Ferdinand said of Terry, his defensive teammate on the England squad. “He’s a great penalty taker normally. but he slipped.”
Anderson and Ryan Giggs—making his club-record 759th appearance—then converted for United around Salomon Kalou’s score for Chelsea.
That left it up to Anelka, whose failure at just past 1:30 a.m. set off another celebration for the Red Devils, who 10 days earlier won their second straight English Premier League title by beating out Chelsea on the final day of the season.
While his teammates ran to congratulate Van der Sar in front of the United fans behind the goal, Ronaldo lay face down in the center circle. Eventually he got up to join in the celebrations.
Terry was in tears at the end and was hugged and consoled by coach Avram Grant, who appeared to throw his runners-up medal toward Chelsea fans.
Carlos Tevez, Michael Carrick, Owen Hargreaves and Nani scored the other kicks for the Red Devils. Michael Ballack, Juliano Belletti, Lampard, Ashley Cole converted for Chelsea.
Manchester United won its first European title since it was purchased three years ago by Malcolm Glazer, whose Tampa Bay Buccaneers won the 2003 Super Bowl.
Chelsea, which has become a European power under high-spending Russian owner Roman Abramovich, finished with 10 men after Didier Drogba was ejected in the 116th minute for petulantly tapping Nemanja Vidic in the face with his hand.
Only the pre-game opening ceremony made it look like Moscow. After that it could have been Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge or Wembley as players so familiar with each other were roared on by English fans.
The first 25 minutes, however, were a poor advertisement for the Premier League as Chelsea stifled United’s efforts to create moves and the action got stuck in the midfield.
Ronaldo, poorly marked by Michael Essien, Ronaldo headed in a cross from Wes Brown, who had neatly swapped passes with Paul Scholes on the right wing. Ronaldo scored a Champions League-leading eight goals in 11 matches, and his season total was third in United history behind Denis Law (46 in 1963-64) and Ruud van Nistelrooy (44 in 2002-3).
Chelsea equalized when Essien’s shot hit defenders Vidic and Ferdinand, and the ball dropped to the unmarked Lampard, who scored from 12 yards.Lampard hit the crossbar in the fourth minute of injury time with a left-footed shot from 15 yards. Giggs, who broke Bobby Charlton’s record for United appearances, nearly broke the tie in the 100th but Terry deflected the shot with his head.

Aries
Now that Saturn is finally direct in your work and health zone and Mars has moved out of Cancer, you can begin to make progress. You seem to have been held back in recent months by a catalogue of obstacles and frustrating delays on an almost daily basis. But these are now shifting. Mars in Leo brings your creative ability back into play and you're going to be feeling very enthusiastic about expressing some of those ideas that have been on the back burner. A lot of what takes place this week concerns listening to your intuition.
Libra
Taurus
The Sun and Venus in your sign are working wonders for you, bringing you confidence and helping you feel a lot more attractive. This week is special, though, as the cosmos seems to shower you with goodies. The week ahead brings more than a few chances to meet people who can bring excitement and inspiration into your life. You may find yourself associated with artists, creative types in general, and movers and shakers in society. All of this is bound to impact you in a very powerful way.
Gemini
You're more aware of your inner resources than you have been in some time. The Sun and Venus highlight your spiritual values, some of which you really can't put a price on. However, you may find that putting them into action in your career or allowing them to dictate your career choice brings a lot more security and happiness your way. On Monday allow your intuition to guide you in the right direction, especially if you're looking for work or if you feel at a crossroads and in need of a change.
Cancer
This week you get many benefits from other people - ideas, friendship, great experiences, plenty of social events, and much more. The fun begins on Monday when the Sun aspects Uranus and Jupiter. Expect meetings out of the blue that are going to be truly delightful. Something exciting is about to be born out of all of the talk and connection. Much of the week is excellent for all kinds of meetings, networking, and get-togethers. But it's not only that; you may find yourself joining into partnerships that will produce excellent results. In fact, the more the merrier.
Leo
You're keen to show the world what you're capable of. The presence of Jupiter and Pluto in your work zone reveals that you have more than enough drive and faith in yourself to make a big splash. This week you'll find that even more pieces of the puzzle come together and that they link to your career path and regular job. Opportunity, inspiration, and much more are all on their way to you. All you need to do is be awake and alert to them as they come your way.
Virgo
Your life has just taken a much more positive turn. For some time you may have felt that everything was an uphill struggle. Now you'll begin to see how success can come to you more easily. There's less resistance from you, too, which always helps. Monday brings a chance to explore new options and new areas of growth. Your partner, work colleagues, or perhaps someone you've never met before will bring a host of exciting ideas your way, which may help you think outside the box and come up with some wonderful plans.
Scorpio
Life for you and your lover may have been business as usual, but this week something special will bring a blast of positive energy your way. Meetings and romance are very high on the agenda. If you're single, then a meeting out of the blue may spark a new relationship with plenty of chemistry. Whether online or off, you may be entranced by the original ideas and life experiences of someone who crosses your path. Online love affairs may blossom as you become interested in learning more about your buddies in the virtual world.
Sagittarius
This seems to be a very positive and upbeat week in which you make great progress, especially at work. The Sun and Mercury are in your health and job zone, highlighting this area and helping you clarify your objectives. Monday is an exciting time in which you'll be inspired to make changes in your routines so you can more easily fulfill your goals and dreams. An innate knowledge that's part of your family heritage may make itself felt in the workplace, perhaps when you're trying to conclude a rather difficult problem.
Capricorn
Expect quite exciting ideas to come out of the blue. You have good reason to be glad, as you're beginning to see a way in which all your brightest dreams can come true. The pieces of the puzzle are coming together in ways that seem nothing short of miraculous. Romance and creativity are high on the agenda this week. If you run your own business, you're likely to find opportunities to showcase your talents. All you need to do is make the most of them.
Aquarius
Mars is currently moving through your partnership zone, where it's helping you clear the air and say it like it is. Ego issues may make it difficult to agree on anything. You'll need to let go of any sense of pride, try not to be so stubborn, and adopt a more flexible approach. Then it will be easier to find a solution. Any problems will then melt away like morning mist. New relationships seem to take off as a result of conversations that bring about a meeting of minds and hearts. Be receptive.
Pisces
The minute you realize that you need to get something done the right people will show up. You seem to get a lot of help by just asking and talking to anyone and everyone about your current needs. You'll also serve as a source of inspiration for others who come to you for a fresh perspective on their issues. You'll make plenty of progress if you work in the media or write or teach for a living. Advertising your goods or services will also work wonders for you. You should get a good response.

The splitt of Liv Tyler and her husband..
posted by my-blogmedia | Monday, May 12, 2008 | gossip, newsTyler, 30, and Langdon, 36, married in March 2003 in Barbados. Their son Milo William Langdon was born in December 2004 in New York.Langdon is a British rocker in the band Spacehog. Tyler has starred in "Empire Records," "That Thing You Do," "Armageddon" and the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy. She next stars opposite Scott Speedman in the thriller "The Strangers," in theaters nationwide on May 30, and in "The Incredible Hulk," hitting theaters June 13.
The rather miraculous process of human reproduction is surrounded in mystery and myth. Theories abound regarding how to improve fertility, treat morning sickness and induce labor. Predicting a baby's gender is another area filled with knowing opinions based largely in folklore and intuition.
I have recently heard it suggested that sperm for male children come from one testicle, and sperm for female children come from the other one. The evidence for this concept? A man who had damage to one testicle (from mumps) had five sons because his "female testicle" was not working. This myth follows a basic misunderstanding about gender determination (not to mention that when mumps causes inflammation of the testicle, it usually affects them both).
How Gender Determination Works
Although there is no such thing as a "female testicle" or a "male testicle," a baby's gender is determined by his or her father. If the father provides an X chromosome, the baby will be female, and if he supplies a Y chromosome, the baby will be male. The body has no mechanism to segregate the X sperm from the Y sperm.
Because sperm containing X chromosomes and sperm containing Y chromosomes are nearly equal in number and because the chances for either type of sperm to fertilize an egg are roughly equal, each naturally occurring conception leads to an equal chance of having a boy or a girl. Mothers can provide only an X chromosome, so they do not have the same influence over gender.
Understanding The Myth
Myths regarding how baby boys or girls are determined probably have their roots in at least two faulty assumptions. One is the concept that past events alter future ones. For example, the chances that a couple will have five boys in a row is one in 32 (or about three in 100); but with each individual child, the chances of having a boy are one in 2 (50 percent), even if the couple already has four sons. Another assumption is that when something unusual happens (for example, having five boys in row), there must be an explanation that is separate from the normal state of affairs. Although unusual things do happen, they do not imply that the laws of nature should be repealed!
It is perhaps easy to see how the notion of "testicular gender" might take hold, since there are two genders and two testicles. For a father who has five sons, it may be tempting to assume that a single functioning testicle has led to this otherwise unlikely situation, yet men who have had a testicle removed surgically (for example, because of an injury or a tumor) still, on average, father male and female babies in equal proportions.
Changing Your Odds
Despite what you may have heard, there is relatively little a couple can do -- through naturally occurring conception -- to alter the chances of conceiving a boy or a girl. Many people believe that position during intercourse, diet, the lunar cycle or gender patterns in the couple's families all contribute to the sex of the baby. In fact, these factors have no well-established effect.
However, the timing of intercourse can have an effect. Sperm carrying Y chromosomes apparently swim faster but do not survive as long as their X-carrying counterparts. So if a couple has intercourse right at the time of ovulation, the faster-swimming male sperm have an advantage, and a male baby is slightly more likely – but only very slightly. But if the timing is a day or two earlier, more of the male sperm die out, and a female baby is a bit more likely. Even so, it is often difficult to time ovulation accurately, and your odds of determining gender do not change much. Without the application of advanced (and sometimes invasive and expensive) technology, such as in vitro fertilization, the chances of conceiving a boy or a girl remain close to equal.
The Bottom Line
If you have a strong preference for a boy or a girl, your options are limited. You could plan to have enough babies so both genders are eventually represented. Or it may be better to rethink your position and hope for a healthy baby of either sex.

cancer. Of course, wearing any lip product without SPF doesn’t exactly shield the thin skin from sun damage. But the slick, shiny nature of the gloss could be making the sun’s UV rays hit harder, some experts say.
“These lip glosses can make more of the light rays penetrate directly through the skin instead of getting reflected off of the skin’s surface,” says Dr. Christine Brown, a dermatologist at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. (You're covered, however, if you wear lip gloss with SPF.)
At worst, say some dermatologists, the resulting sun damage can lead to potentially fatal forms of skin cancer. An estimated 3,500 new cases of skin cancer of the lips are diagnosed each year, and 90 percent of those cancers are squamous cell carcinoma. While that form of cancer isn't usually particularly serious, it can be more aggressive on the lips than on other parts of the skin. If left untreated, it can cause disfigurement, and in very few cases, it can spread to other organs and become deadly. But the less serious effects may grab a lip gloss junkie’s attention more quickly: All that sun exposure could be slowly building gross, non-cancerous disfigurements on your lips. One such effect is actinic keratosis, a small, scaly patch of skin that can morph into a wart-like bump if left untreated. Sun exposure can also cause small brown spots that look like freckles on the lips. The spots are noncancerous but could cause people to whisper, "Hey, you've got food on your lips.
Sun damage can also cause premature aging, making the already thin skin on your lips even thinner, which can lead to rips and tears. Ultraviolet light zaps skin of much of its elasticity, leaving the skin lax. That lack of elasticity can prevent the upper and lower lips from lining up properly, which can cause pools of saliva to collect at the corners of the mouth.
It's the moisture in lip gloss that's to blame, says Dr. Bruce Robinson, a Manhattan dermatologist. Your lips are equipped with a protective outer layer, but the hydration of a lip gloss "kind of smooshes that down," Robinson says. Once that outer layer is effectively squashed, it's easier for UV rays to penetrate deeper into the skin. "Instead of having to travel through that thicker layer, it's more condensed," Robinson says. "So the UV rays reach are reaching deeper layers of epidermis and dermis because you don't have this forcefield. "Sun's laser focus on lips. Apart from the extra hydration, the “super shine” and “ultra shine” of the glosses could be damaging as well.
“Take a magnifying glass and put it over your lips,” Robinson says. When you apply lip gloss and go out in the sun, “that’s essentially what you’re doing.” But no studies have confirmed the lip gloss-skin cancer link, and not all dermatologists agree that it poses a risk.
“The only way I could see it is if you’re thinking you’re protected, and you stay out in the sun longer, that may
increase your risk,” says Robin Ashinoff, a dermatologist in Hackensack, N.J. That's what happened to Sherry Duplar, a fair-skinned, horseback-riding redhead who spends as much time as possible outdoors. She always applied lip balm or gloss, and figured that was enough.
“I didn’t realize, back then, that our lips were so susceptible,” says Duplar, who’s 59 and lives in Mesquite, Texas. But about 12 years ago, Duplar’s lips were cracked and chapped, and constantly peeling, and nothing she did would heal them. She’d developed actinic cheilitis, a precancerous condition that's sometimes known as "farmer's lip" or "sailor's lip." It often leads to squamous cell carcinoma, a form of skin cancer.
Since then, she’s had three laser treatments, to deconstruct the affected skin cells. The treatments which leave her lips raw, swelled up and oozing, for as many as three weeks. “It was nasty,” Duplar says.
Now she slathers on lip balm boasting 50 SPF before she goes out in the sun, which makes her dermatologist, the lip gloss-bashing Brown, much happier. Brown wishes women would abandon their lip glosses for lip balm with an SPF of at least 30. But for those who balk at tossing all their lip gloss, Robinson offers a compromise: find a lip gloss infused with SPF, which also protects the lips from ultraviolet light.

Has Mariah Carey joined the long list of celebrities who have made an impetuous, imprudent decision to walk down the aisle? The rumor mill began churning Thursday with rumblings that the high-maintenance diva, 39, who not so coincidentally has been pulling out all the stops to promote her new album, secretly tied the knot with rumored new boyfriend Nick Cannon, 27, whom she was first linked to just two weeks ago. The New York Post claims the cougar-riffic couple just pledged to stick together until death in a small ceremony at the chanteuse's new house in the Bahamas. "There was no pre-nup," a concerned source tells the paper. "There wasn't time." Their reps have yet to comment. On Saturday, Mariah stepped out with a suspicious, doorknob-sized diamond weighing down her ring finger, with a snitch telling the New York Post it was indeed a gift from the actor, who was supposedly overheard at the Manhattan store where he bought the behemoth bauble -- and evidently emptied his bank account -- talking about how they're getting hitched. The specs on the sparkler are impressively ostentatious. The paper claims it cost $2.5 million and is a retina-searing 17 carats, which includes a 10-carat stone in the center. But was it a regift? Some online sleuths have noted the similarity between Carey's digit-crushing dazzler and the rock Cannon presented to Victoria's Secret model Selita Ebanks last year in a Jumbotron-captured proposal in Times Square. It's unclear if he got the ring back when their engagement flamed out five months later. If the marriage rumors prove true (and that remains a really big if), this would be the first for Cannon and the second for Carey, who divorced music mogul Tommy Mottola in 1998. "I don't know how you would describe my marriage," she recently told OK! magazine. "It was a kidnapping in a golden cage. I look at the past and keep the memories. There have been bad and good times."

Tom Hank - Ewan McGregor in the future prequel movie of Davinci Code ?
posted by my-blogmedia | Friday, May 02, 2008 | gossip, movieAs most Dan Brown fans know, "Demons" finds Langdon trying to stop the Illuminati, an ancient secret society, from blowing up the Vatican during a papal conclave. Ventresca is the late pope's closest aide that initially assists Langdon in his investigation. He may also be Janus, the Illuminati mastermind behind the entire conspiracy.
Internationally known actress Ayelet Zurer ("Munich" and "Vantage Point") has been cast in the key role of Vittoria, a woman who effectively becomes Langdon's sidekick as they investigate her father's murder, which is the first clue to the Illuminati's conspiracy.
As for McGregor, he's been going through a rough patch in his career lately. His thriller "Deception," which was produced by co-star Hugh Jackman," was barely released by 20th Century Fox this weekend. He's currently shooting the indie comedy "I Love You Phillip Morris" with Jim Carrey in Miami. He'll then segue to "Demons," which is set to begin production in Europe this June before finishing in Los Angeles.

Have you ever though how much money that are earned by a world's models. My-blogmedia posts the world top 10 earning models based on Forbes magazine survey. Here is the list. Enjoy.
1. Gisele Bundchen ($35 Million)
The 27-year-old continues to bag new contracts, noticeably with Pantene and a cosmetics giant yet to be named. Her face graces ads for Disney, Nivea, Vogue eyewear and Aquascutum, the U.K.-based luxury line. Her line of Grendene sandals, Ipanema by Gisele, banks her about $6 million a year. And her romance with New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady keeps her in the tabloids--she even escaped being blamed for the Patriots' loss to the Giants. On the left is her picture.
2. Heidi Klum ($14 Million)
The second highest-paid model in the world is more of a media and retail mogul, with hit shows in two countries and lines of jewelry, jeans and skincare.
The 34-year-old model and mother of three (hubby is singer Seal) has renewed her Victoria's Secret contract, heads up the hit Bravo (soon to be Lifetime) reality fashion show Project Runway and Germany's version of America's Next Top Model. She designs three lines of Mouawad jewelry and a line of Jordache jeans. Then there's new deals with Diet Coke, McDonald's, Volkswagen and Fontanis water. She's also coming out with a skincare line, In An Instant, to be marketed by powerhouse Guthy-Renker.
3. Kate Moss ($7.5 Million )
The überwaif lost some important contracts last year, but her fashion line is an international hit.The 34-year-old ended campaigns with Burberry, Stella McCartney, Dior and Versace. But her retail line with British retailer Topshop, carried in 29 countries, keeps her bank account from starving. Other clients include Donna Karan, Longchamp, Agent Provocateur, Yves Saint Laurent, Roberto Cavalli and Rimmel.
4. Adriana Lima ($7 Million)
The Brazilian beauty remains hugely popular on the Web and in her Victoria's Secret commercials. The blue-eyed beauty, 27, lost her Italian phone company Telecom Italia contract, but holds on to bread-and-butter clients Victoria's Secret and Maybelline, for which she just renegotiated a multiyear deal. She also modeled for Mexico City-based department store giant Liverpool and graced the April cover of GQ magazine, her second for the men's mag, and drew a record number of hits to its Web site. Her sexy Valentine's Day Victoria's Secret Superbowl ad was a sensation.
5. Doutzen Kroes ($6 Million)
This honey from Holland, 23, makes the longest leap up the list this year thanks to her contracts with Calvin Klein, L'Oréal and Victoria's Secret. The Dutch model catwalks into the top five, thanks to being a triple contract threat: She reps fragrance and fashion with Calvin Klein's Eternity and White Label, cosmetics with L'Oréal and lingerie as the newest Victoria's Secret model. And let's not forget diamonds with De Beers.
6. Karolina Kurkova ($5 Million)
The Victoria's Secret babe remains one of the lingerie giant's most important--and highest paid--models. If it seems like this Czech beauty has been around the industry much longer than would it would seem for someone only 23 years old--that is because she hit success young, appearing on Vogue at 16 and bagging her Victoria's Secret contract at 21. This year, she renegotiated her contract with the lingerie giant, as well as campaigned for Dell and Mexico City-based department store giant Liverpool.
7. Natalia Vodianova ($4.8 Million)
This ravishing Russian and mother of three, 26, has been a Calvin Klein muse for longer than any other model, including Kate Moss. Vodianova is the exclusive face of Calvin Klein's Euphoria fragrance. She also picked up deals with Paris-based beauty giant Guerlain, Chanel, Versace and Diane Von Furstenberg, and continues to model for David Yurman jewelry.
8. Carolyn Murphy ($4.5 Million)
The face of Estée Lauder has no trouble bagging other clients. If you've been in a department store any time within the past few years, you've seen this ubiquitous 32-year-old. The porcelain-skinned beauty is not only the main face of cosmetics powerhouse Estée Lauder, but she adorns ads for Anne Klein, Tiffany & Co., Lord & Taylor and Jantzen swimwear.
9. Daria Werbowy ($3.8 Million)
This striking brunette, 24, is the main visage for beauty behemoth Lancome, but that is far from all. She rotates ad campaigns for Louis Vuitton, Versace, Roberto Cavalli, Chanel, Valentino, H&M, Missoni and David Yurman jewelry.
10. Miranda Kerr ($3.5 Million)
The bewitching babe from Down Under is Victoria's Secret's latest star. Kerr is getting a bit of a late start, breaking through in her delectable Victoria's Secret campaigns at the ripe age of 23. However, expect her to remain in angel wings for awhile--the lingerie giant just renegotiated her contract for multiple years. She's also the face of Australian department store David Jones and the face most likely to be seen around town with actor Orlando Bloom. Not bad for an Aussie who only moved Stateside two years ago.
